Saudi authorities have urged the public to report firework dealers and set a SR5,000 (Dh5,000) reward for any person leading to those sellers.

The Trade and Industry Ministry said persons reporting shops selling fireworks must make sure the shop has a large quantity of such items.

In a statement published by 'Sabq' and other Saudi dailies, the ministry said its inspectors would raid shops having more than 4,000 firework items, adding that it would fine dealers and confiscate all those items.

“People who report on such dealers will be given SR5,000 provided the shop has at least 4,000 firework items,” the statement said.

Fireworks are banned in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf oil producers without a prior permission from authorities.
