The Egypt press has reported a case that would rival any movie script for sex and murder.
An Egyptian housewife identified as Amani Fouad and her 24-year-old lover identified as Al Sayed Al Dhani have been arrested for an elaborate murder plot that left Fouad’s husband dead.
The body of the husband identified as Mahmoud Talaat Ahmed has also been identified after it was fished out of a canal.
Forensic examinations confirmed the murder.
The plot begins with the husband discovering his wife was involved in an illicit relationship, according to Al Wafd newspaper.
Attempting to pacify her husband and claim that the affair was over, the wife offered him a drink.
Only the drink was laced with a sedative.
Once the husband passed out, she called her lover who came to the house with a pocket knife.
He then proceeded, according to the police, to stab the man with the knife.
When the knife proved too small for a fatal attack, the wife then provided a large kitchen knife and the lover finished off the job.
They then transferred the body to the canal in a rented car.
The accused led the police to the knife used in the accident as well as the mobile phone of the victim.
The police have referred the case to the public prosecution to complete legal measures.
