A Saudi man carrying a big kitchen knife stormed a packed restaurant in the Gulf Kingdom on Sunday night, waved the knife in front of the customers before ordering them not to move. He then lunged at them and began stabbing their bodies.
Police in the western town of Taif said four people were injured in the attack while the remaining customers managed to stampede out.
Police called to the scene found the assailant barricaded inside his car, refusing to open the door. They then smashed the window and snatched him out.
“Police are now investigating the man who they believe is suffering from mental problems,” the Arabic language daily Okaz said.
