Ladies beware: Indreem lipstick is toxic

Women seeking to avoid hazardous cosmetics should avoid using Indreem Lipstick as it contains a high level of lead, according to a warning by Saudi health authorities.

The General Food and Drugs Authority in the Gulf Kingdom said it had detected the contents in the Chinese-made lipstick during routine tests on cosmetics and other imported products to ensure they do not contain toxic substances.

“The tests showed that Indreem Lipstick number 107 contains a high level of lead in violation with the specifications and standards enforced in the GCC,” the Authority said in a statement, carried by Saudi newspapers on Thursday.

“All competent authorities and dealers are asked to withdraw this product from the market and stop importing it….the public is also advised not to buy this product.”
