Lover flees leaving maid to deliver their baby

An Asian housemaid surrendered herself to Salmiya police after giving birth to a baby in her flat, reports Al Watan Arabic daily.

The maid had escaped from her sponsor’s house and was living with a man who impregnated her but ran away to his home country when she was about to give birth.

The woman felt she was in great trouble and decided to hand herself over to police.

Arab expat swindled

An Arab expatriate has lodged a complaint at South Surra Police Station, accusing a Kuwaiti man of swindling him, reports Al-Rai daily.

The complainant said the Kuwaiti offered to help him in renting a butchery shop in a cooperative society and convinced him that it was a profitable project.

The victim handed over KD 300 to the swindler and promised to pay the rest of the money after the signing of the contract which was to take place after two days. The swindler, however, switched off his cell phone after taking the money.

Youth found dead in apartment

Hawalli securitymen are trying to unravel the mystery behind the death of a youth who was  found lifeless in his apartment on Al-Yarmouk Street, behind Dar Al-Shifa Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

It is believed to be a murder because the victim was hit on his head and tools used for consuming drugs were recovered from the place.

The remains of the victim were referred to Forensics to know the exact cause of the death.

Police nab 28 Asians for violating law

Farwaniya police arrested 28 Asians during their ongoing campaign against law violators in the area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

Twenty-one Asians were arrested for violating residence law; six for their involvement in crimes and one for consuming alcohol. All of them were referred to authorities.
