Mushroom vendor duped by 'fake handicapped' person

A mushroom seller in Kuwait had apparently thought it was his lucky day when a luxurious car stopped by and its driver asked him to see a sample, saying he cannot walk because of his handicap.

The vendor, who had barely sold anything for the day, picked one of the best mushrooms he had and rushed towards the driver, boasting how big it was.

As the seller had expected, the driver appeared so impressed that he quickly asked to buy 20 kg for KDfive (Dh60) per kg.

When the happy vendor returned with the stuff, he found the driver holding a big bundle of money and counting out the price for the mushrooms.

“Can you please put them in my car boot,” the driver said to the seller while opening the boot with a button push next to him.

“Just after the seller put the mushrooms in and shut the boot, the driver sped away, leaving the seller dumbfounded…when he overcame his shock, the seller went to the police and gave them the car plate number,” the Kuwait daily Alwatan said.
