Newly-wed bride runs away with her old lover

Colombo: After enjoying the Sinhala New Year festivities, a young man in Pathahewaheta area was all set to marry. Little did he know his dreams were short-lived.

According to ‘Gossip C Lanka’, the groom along with his bride returned to his home after the wedding. He then got busy with guests.

Later, when he returned to his room, his new bride was nowhere to be found.

Eyewitnesses claimed they saw a trishaw leave the courtyard. The immediately informed the bride’s parents and both the families went out looking for the girl.

But it was not until a day later when they heard from her. She called to say that he was living with her lover but did not reveal her location.

Police is investigating.
