A Pakistani truck driver was killed after a passenger train rammed into his vehicle in Saudi Arabia and police said no train passenger was hurt.
The train was on its way from the eastern town of Dammam to the capital Riyadh when the truck emerged on the rail after violating traffic rules.
“The truck driver ignored all warning signals and the red light….he tried to cross over the rail but the vehicle got stuck there,” said Mohammed bin Zaid, public relations manager at the Saudi Rail Company.
“The driver appeared to have struggled to push his vehicle back as the train came closer but he failed..…the train then rammed into the truck’s front, leading to the instant death of the driver.”
