Video: Saudi cops bust liquor ring

Saudi police seized a large quantity of liquor and arrested several smugglers, including women, in a raid on a house in the Gulf Kingdom.

'Ajel' newspaper said the drinks have a value of around SR12 million (Dh12 million) and that they were seized at a house in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

A YouTube film posted on social networks showed the stuff includes thousands of liquor bottles stuffed in blue boxes.

The paper said all the bottles were destroyed without identifying those arrested.

Alcohol is banned in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries as it is prohibited in Islam.
