11-year-old raped, strangled, dumped near Delhi

An 11-year-old girl’s body has been found near a vacant plot in Gurgaon, India, yesterday.

Post-mortem report confirms she was raped and strangulated, reports ToI.

The minor went missing on Sunday night after she had gone to deliver ironed clothes to her parents’ clients. She was the youngest of the three daughters and a son of a family of roadside launderers.

Her parents raised an alarm when the child did not return after 15 minutes of her going to deliver the clothes to a house about half-a-kilometer from where her parents ran the ironing shop.

Police searched until 2am and the body was found the next day morning. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

Meanwhile, residents of the colony have reported seeing a car speed past the area around the time the child went missing. The family who received the clothes confirmed that the child had delivered the laundry and collected the money.

A forensic team also visited the spot to collect evidence, including her slippers which were found near the body.
