Crime: Human ear found in man's pocket

Published

US: A young woman called the cops and complained that she was being held against her wishes in an apartment in Oklahoma's Tulsa. When the police arrived, she told them that she was assaulted by the 24-year-man who was also present in the apartment.

The girl was seriously injured and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared that she her lung had collapsed and her ribs had also broken.

The man was charged with domestic assault, battery, kidnapping and maiming. When the cops made him submit to a body search, they were shocked to find a piece of human ear in his pocket.

Coach taped nude boys in locker room

US: A high school coach in Ohio charged with videotaping nude boys in the locker room was ordered held on $2 million bond Thursday and told to stay away from boys.

Scott D. Studer, 47, wore an orange jail outfit at his arraignment before Massillon Municipal Court Judge C. Roland Centrone. If he makes bond, the judge said Studer must stay away from victims, other boys and schools.

A preliminary hearing on the six felony counts, each carrying a possible eight-year prison term and $15,000 fine, was scheduled for Wednesday.

Studer’s lawyer, James Haupt, said his client maintained his innocence and that the charges are only allegations at this point. A woman answering a call to Studer’s home Thursday said there was no comment.

The freshman basketball coach at Jackson High School was arrested Wednesday after investigators searched his home and found nude images on a DVD, a laptop computer and a flash drive.

The materials were found during a search led by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. A message seeking comment on what prompted the search was left for the agency.

Police Chief Dave Zink of Jackson Township near Canton said there was no evidence that Studer had shared any videos.

“The cameras were placed at different times when he had access to the locker room,” Zink said. “For the past eight years, he sporadically brought these cameras to the school.”

Studer quit his jobs Wednesday as coach and school building aide.

Shayne Rowlands, who has two sons who played basketball for Jackson High, told The (Canton) Repository he was concerned whether any videos have been shared.

“I want to know if either of my boys are on those videos,” Rowlands said. “And where did these videos go? I am sure there must be some kind of distribution.”

The chief said he did not have evidence that Studer shared the nude images.

“I cannot give you any indication how many people are in these images,” Zink said. “These images, to my knowledge, were not shared with others. We are going to continue to try to identify the victims.” (AP)
