Drugs in Tom and Jerry cup kills 2-year-old

A two-year-old girl in Blackpool, England, died after drinking methadone from her Tom and Jerry cup.

The toddler’s drug addict parents allegedly stored the drug in her drinking cup, reported metro.co.uk

Samples taken from the child’s hair contained traces of heroin, methadone, cocaine and diazepam, which she had ingested over a period of several months.

High traces of methadone was found in the child’s blood during post-mortem but not her stomach, which suggests it had all been digested by the time she died, the report added.

According to the prosecutor, the child’s mother used her daughter’s Tom and Jerry cups and Fruit Shoot bottles to store the drug until she could sell it.

The couple reportedly attempted cleaning the, however, 146ml of methadone was found in their backyard.

The mother has admitted to manslaughter and the dad is on trial for the same charges.
