Authorities in Orange County say a man claims he accidentally shot a woman to death with a BB gun.
The Orange County Register says police were called to a Santa Ana home.
Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says they found a woman unconscious with a small wound in her upper chest. Thirty-two-year-old Martha Marin died at a hospital.
Police say a 34-year-old man at the home told officers he accidentally shot her with a BB rifle. However, police haven’t determined whether the shooting really was accidental.
The man wasn’t immediately arrested but an investigation continues.
Bertagna says the couple lived together for 14 years and have two children.
