Underage youth rape underage girl

Colombo - Two underage youth have been arrested by Wanathawilluwa Police for raping a 14-year-old girl in Wattakkandal area, Wanathawilluwa.

Both the suspects from Ismailpuram, Wattakkandal are aged 16 and 14, ‘Hiru Gossip’ reports.

The victim was being looked after by her grandmother after her mother’s death and after her father, after his second marriage, abandoned her.

Police said the two underage suspects entered the house of the girl on early hours of August 6 and gang raped her.

After she related the story to one of her relatives, Wanathawilluwa Police arrested the two suspects.

The victim was admitted to the Puttalam hospital while the suspects were remanded after being produced before Puttalam court. Wanathawilluwa police are investigating.
