Khalifa sets up Accountability Authority for Abu Dhabi

The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has issued a law establishing the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority as an independent authority that will have an independent juridical personality.

The Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority will function under the authority of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and shall replace the Abu Dhabi Audit Authority.

The new law has nine chapters with 28 articles, which cover topics such as definitions, objectives, chairman and employees, subject entities, powers, function and duties, financial resources, violations and disciplinary actions, and final provisions.
