Planning a family outing to the movies this Diwali to catch Shah Rukh Khan’s “Ra.One” at the local cinema?

Chances are, this time around you may not have to struggle too hard to nab those tickets because this sci-fi adventure is set to break yet another record in the Middle East by releasing the maximum number of prints here for any Bollywood film.

According to Ematterz, the official Facebook page of Phars Film (distributors for American Independent, Bollywood and South Indian language films across the region), “Ra.One” will be released with a whopping 43 prints in 3D and another 36 prints in 35mm, taking the total number of prints to 79.

Globally, “Ra.One” is reported to be releasing 600 prints, breaking the previous record held by Khan’s earlier film “My Name is Khan”, which had set a record in 2010 with 571 initial prints.

The film, which is scheduled to release on October 26 across the UAE, will also see its world premiere in Dubai two days earlier at Grand Cinemas, Wafi.

In attendance will be Shah Rukh Khan, along with co-stars Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal.

The premiere will be held across three screens simultaneously, with the general public having the chance to buy tickets for the shows and see their stars in person.

Following the red carpet event, the stars will make way to a charity dinner at the Grand Hyatt, where, aside from a small stage performance, personal memorabilia will also be auctioned.

The actors are expected to jet off to London and Toronto for corresponding film premieres of “Ra.One”.

On a side note, if fans of Tamil cinema can’t make it in for “Ra.One”, they can have a back-up plan this Diwali as another sci-fiction thriller, “7aum Arivu”, starring Surya in a double role, along with Shruti Hassan, will be released across the GCC on the same day.
