'Hum Aapke Hain Koun', Indian Hindi film released 20 years ago, is still remembered as one of the purest and most innocent love stories of all times.

It also made youngsters love the idea of falling in love. The lead couple Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit was no less Romeo and Juliet for the youths of that era.

The film explored Indian values, traditions, and romance and presented it in a glossy screen with the grandest opening of all time.

'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' (HAHK) was the first Hindi film to have made a collection of over 1 billion at the box office. Box Office India described it as "the biggest blockbuster of the modern era."

It won a Filmfare Award for the Best Film. Sooraj Barjatya bagged Best Director award that year. Madhuri Dixit won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in a leading role. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

The film also starred Anupam Kher, Mohnish Bahl, Renuka Shahane, Reema Lagoo, Alok Nath in prominent roles.

Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya, who are currently shooting ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, on Tuesday celebrated 20 years of their hit blockbuster ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ (HAHK) on the set of their upcoming film.

To celebrate the occasion Sooraj Barjatya and Salman have decided to have a reunion of sorts.

They had a lunch party on the sets. A few members from the unit of HAHK will be present (many still work with Barjatya), and they will all be joined by the filmmaker’s family members too.

Barjatya had initially planned to bring the entire cast of HAHK together for the reunion. But it was almost next to impossible, given the hectic schedules of all the actors who were part of the film.

Meanwhile, Madhuri Dixit who played Nisha in the film also tweeted congratulations to Barjatya.

“Wah wah Soorajji, picture kya banayee! Rajshri aur parivaar ko badhai ho badhai #20YearsOfHAHK unforgettable memories (Soorajji what a film you have made. I congratulate Rajshri productions for it,” Madhuri tweeted along with the poster of the film.

Anupam Kher, who is also the part of director’s next venture, tweeted, “Happy 20th birthday to one of my most successful and cherished films — ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ Thank you Sooraj for making this classic.”
