Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have been live-in partners for more than a few months now. And, if we take the top Indian court's new ruling that live-in partners will automatically gain legal married status, then the Bollywood couple are 'married'.
In a recent verdict by the Supreme Court of India, unmarried couples, who are living together will be presumed legally married.
Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor in an almost tell-all interview to ‘Mumbai Mirror’ openly acknowledged that his son has moved out to live with his girlfriend.
According to a report in NDTV, if a man and a woman have cohabited continuously for a long time, the law presumes they are married. India's apex court has said while holding that a woman is eligible to inherit her partner's property after his death.
Katrina and Ranbir have made no wedding announcement yet, though marriage rumours have been rife for some time now.
Rumours of their engagement surfaced, but were quickly silenced when Ranbir categorically denied them in an interview published in The Times of India in February this year.
Their recent dinner outing with the elders of the Kapoor family also sent the gossip columns in a tizzy.
Speculations are rife that the couple has finally managed to convince the family and marriage is definitely on the cards.
