Arab Idol is back… for a 3rd season

The entertainment industry and millions of fans are buzzing with anticipation on the eve of the premiere of Arab Idol Season 3.

This year, the hugely popular Arab talent-spotting show has the same yet, improved winning formula… and a new face on the judging panel. The show starts with a bang as thousands of contestants churn out their best notes in the hopes that the celebrity judges – Wael Kfoury, Nancy Ajram, Ahlam and Hassan El Shafei, will choose them to progress to the next round.

On the road during the Auditions Tours, this year also included a visit to Berlin, Paris, Algeria… and Palestine for the first time, among other cities. This phase of the show is followed by the Live Theatre Auditions before the semi-finals kick in. Votes are then turned over to the audience, who can not only choose their favorite Idol but, in another first for the show, will be able to engage in a weekly chat with contestants through the Arab Idol digital application.

This season of Arab Idol also sees an all-new ‘extras’ section added to the program. What’s more is the winner will also walk away with a record label.

Watched by over 100 million viewers across the Mena region, the first two top-rated seasons turned the hopes and dreams into a reality for the winner: “Youth Ambassador to UNRWA” Mohammed Assaf from Gaza. In a zero to hero phenomenon, Arab Idol nurtured these talents and Assaf went on to become an international sensation. This year’s winner will undoubtedly be no different. But, which contestant will take the title?

There can only be one Arab Idol… Tune in to MBC1 and MBC MASR starting Friday September 5th, 2014 night … as the journey begins.
