The World Cup may be over – but for some, like the Germans and Argentinians in particular, the wounds and the victory are like it happened yesterday.

How else can one explain the rather un-German-like behavior of some of its younger stars in the wake of their triumph as World Cup champions in Brazil?

Commentators chided Germany's football champions Wednesday for mocking Argentina during a giant World Cup title party in Berlin.

Newspapers said the young players' "tasteless" victory dance on Tuesday reflected badly on Germany.

What was the dance in question – well it was reported to be a take on the ‘gaucho’ performed by the Argentinians.

Six of the players including Mario Goetze, the sole scorer in 1-0 win over Argentina, performed the taunt.

"This is how the gauchos (Argentines) walk, the gauchos walk like this," they sang, hunched over, to cheers from the crowd.

Well, the Argentinians have struck back.

Well, at least two have. Filmmaker brothers Jorge and Santiago Otamendi sent this video to Emirates 24|7 in response to Germany’s mocking gaucho show.

“Seeing the celebration of the German team after winning the World Cup to our soccer team we wanted the world to see what we really felt, the Argentines, for them. They are our heroes!”

“The video reflects the joy of the Argentine football fans in Buenos Aires during the final,” the response says.

Well, we have to say the Argentine response is a lot classier than the Germans’.
