She's not got long to go before she welcomes her second child into the world and it looks like it's time for Penelope Cruz to give birth any day now.

And it is also time we see this Spanish lass as a Bond girl.

Penelope Cruz is set to become the oldest Bond girl ever – at the age of 40. The actress will start work on the next installment of the bond franchise next summer.

The producers have tried to get Penelope on-board before, but she was always busy with other commitments. The discussions have been going on for some time and they are working out the contract details now.

Cruz will take the title of oldest Bond girl from British actress Honor Blackman, who was 39 when she appeared in 1962’s 'Goldfinger' as Pussy Galore, one of the most memorable Bond girls ever.

The 24th unnamed £100 million film is likely to be directed by Sam Mendes after his success with 'Skyfall'.

The makers are confident that Cruz, who is due to deliver her second child, will get back to shape immediately after delivery.

Cruz, who already has a two-year-old son, Leo, is due to give birth any day now.
