'Battery Man' returns to electrify Dubai

Probably not, but one guy can, and usually does in a breeze – Battery Man.

If you missed him last year, you’ll be glad to know Serbian Slavisa Pajkic is returning to Dubai.

The Guinness World Record holder, insulator, conductor, accumulator and heater is set to electrify the masses on Friday 27th February at Cirque Le Soir.

He’s part of the weird and wonderful extraordinary line-up at the region’s one and only 'Night Circus', where it’s normal to find popcorn machine at the entrance, freak show artists, aerialists hanging from the ceiling, and little people in glass cases.

"Expect to walk into a completely different world", says Sahara Gunn, the venue’s Creative Director.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Sahara explained:"everyone says this place is like an adult Disneyland here, it’s generally like you’re walking into a circus at night."

The venue presents a mind-blowing show of contortionists, trapeze performers, jugglers, but in addition to that, the team frequently delivers international performers and special guests, heightening the magical experience for its visitors.

2014 marked the brand’s 3rd anniversary in Dubai, with a reputation for its one-of-a-kind nightlife experience that makes the venue at The Fairmont Hotel still the most talked about until this day.

Founder Ryan Bish said: "The journey for Cirque Le Soir Dubai has been great, it has been challenging but exciting at the same time, and I'm glad the brand has stood the test of time and is still going strong."

Bish opened the first Cirque Le Soir in 2009 in London before sister clubs in Dubai and Shanghai, exploding the unforgettable circus-themed experience on a global scale.

As Dubai’s nightclub scene is a very competitive one, it’s clear to see that this unique concept has already made a huge impact.

Ryan explained: "I was pretty confident when we came here that we were going to succeed in the market due to our USP, our different concepts to all other brands and with us being the first international nightclub that came to Dubai, others have followed our footsteps now."

The spot is also a magnet for  well-known personalities including Hip Hop star Nelly, LMFAO’s Redfoo, dancers Les Twins, DJ Jazzy Jeff and rapper Ace Hood.

Also making international headlines was the holder of the Guinness World Record for the most piercings, Rolf Buchholz, when he was reportedly suspected of 'practicing black magic' and thereby refused entry by officials at Dubai International Airport.

With this in mind, it’s no wonder people ask ‘where on Earth do these acts come from?’

"We have a very large database of international performers that we've used over the past few years in London and for our world tour," explained Ryan.

He added:"We fly them in from all over the world to perform in Cirque Dubai, we now have a rota so they go between London, Shanghai and Dubai."

Sahara explains:"We look for interesting performers around the world generally not seen in Dubai, as we like to bring the best and the most unique ones."

As the club is known for pushing boundaries, some of those exclusive acts that are brought to Dubai, have been slightly modified.

Ryan explained: "The concept originating in London is very risqué, and we've had to tone down the concept since we came to this market according to the local restrictions and regulations."

He continued: "But we've still managed to keep the essence of the brand and the concept alive."

With its incomparable and astonishing experiences spanning three clubs across three continents, the internationally recognised brand’s  immense blend of live performers and music  continues to captivate and charm Cirque Le Soir’s masses.

It’s one big party, and a sign of a successful one, as founder Ryan puts it, is  "when the DJ turns down the music in the chorus bit and everyone sings along, that's really what it is!"
