Beyonce's crystal-studded £9,000 gift for Kim Kardashian

Beyonce couldn't attend Kim Kardashian's baby shower, but sent the reality TV star a £9,000, "crystal-studded high chair".

The 'Love On Top' hitmaker and her husband Jay-Z couldn't attend the event but were reportedly able to make it up to the reality TV star with a "crystal-studded high chair".

A source revealed to the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Beyonce and Jay-Z's gift could not be outdone, a £9,000 Swarovski crystal-studded high chair, designed by Carla Monchen.

"They had a similar one for their daughter Blue Ivy."

Another big name who didn't go to the baby shower was Gwyneth Paltrow, who gave a more practical - but much less extravagant - gift.

The insider added: "Both Gwyneth and Beyonce politely decline Kim's offer of attending her baby shower.

"Beyonce is busy touring and Gwyneth doesn't really know Kim that well. They met at a fitness event just the month before and share the same trainer Tracy Anderson.

"Instead, Gwyneth sent six-months-pregnant Kim a £350 Vitamix blender and a 21-day cleanse that will help her bounce back into shape after the birth."

Despite the high-profile snubs, Kim still enjoyed the company of the likes of Kelly Osbourne and Kimberley Stewart.

Kanye West celebrates birthday in NYC

Kanye West celebrated his 36th birthday with Beyonce and Jay-Z in New York City on Saturday night (08.06.13).

The couple were among the guests at a small birthday party for the 'New Slaves' rapper at Caribbean-inspired hotspot Ms. Lily's in the city.

Other guests at the low-key bash included Nas, Scott Disick and Kim Kardashian's best friend Jonathan Cheban.

Kanye's girlfriend of more than one year, Kim, was absent from the party as she is stuck in Los Angeles because she is no longer able to fly ahead of the birth of their first child next month.

A source confirmed to UsMagazine.com: "Kim isn't allowed to fly."

The 32-year-old reality TV star publicly declared her love for her boyfriend as she wished him happy birthday on Twitter on Saturday, writing: "Happy Birthday to my best friend, the love of my life, my soul!!!! I love you beyond words!"

The brunette beauty also attached a photo collage, featuring several pictures of the couple looking madly in love together.

Kim presented the 'Mercy' hitmaker with a $750,000 Lamborghini for his birthday last year but sources close to Kanye revealed that he warned her not to buy him anything lavish this year.

An insider previously said: "He doesn't want Kim to think about trying to do something big for him on his birthday when she's pregnant.

"All he really wants for his birthday is peace of mind for him and Kim."

Kanye is in New York to perform at the Governor's Ball there today (09.06.13).
