Bigg Boss 8: Let the madness begin! First confirmed contestant is...

The first contestant for Bigg Boss Season 8 has been locked in. And contrary to rumours, it's not actress Ameesha Patel, but Upen Patel.

The host Salman Khan is also set for more melodrama, ego tussles, and controversies as the first teaser of the reality show is already a hit.

Prospective names of contestants are already doing the rounds. Amidst refusals from Evelyn Sharma and Ameesha, Upen Patel has been confirmed.

You may well ask Upen who? Well, he appeared in many music videos, including the remix of the classic Bollywood song Kya khoob lagti ho, which also featured Udita Goswami.

He flagged off his Bollywood career in 2006 with '36 China Town' and 'Namastey London', followed by the box-office dud, 'Shakalaka Boom Boom'.

He also went unnoticed in 'Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani'.

More than his films, Upen is remembered for a fight in a swimming pool with model Shamita Singha.

And that's perhaps what got him the show. It is well known that the broadcasters of the show are always on the lookout for contestants who are quick tempered.

Another name that's doing the round is Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend Sangeeta Bijlani, hoping to make her Bollywood comeback as well.
