The Bollywood hero and heroines are almost always righteous, standing for the weak and what they believe is just.
But the on-screen virtues often gets diluted off-screen and sometimes we see the ugly side of this heroism.
Controversies and Bollywood have had a deep connection since the inception of the industry. Let us take a look at some of the controversies of 2012 that remains fresh in our mind.
Shah Rukh Khan-Shirish Kunder: Everyone knows there is no love lost between actor Shah Rukh Khan and editor-turned-director Shirish Kunder. But they sealed this mutual disrespect in a public brawl. SRK and Shirish's wife Farah’s relationship got embittered post-'Om Shanti Om' as he refused to be a part of her husband Shirish’s project. At Sanjay Dutt’s party, SRK allegedly slapped Shirish for misbehaving. The controversy went too far with Farah making it official in the media. However, a quick hug and kiss solve the entire episode.
Priyanka Chopra-Karan Johar: Somehow it's again Shah Rukh who is the key player in the Priyanka Chopra - Karan Johar fight. Karan is very close to SRK's wife Gauri Khan. When Gauri heard the rumour about SRK-Priyanka affair, she embargoed Priyanka from all the major Bollywood dos. Karan left no stone unturned to jump into the fight taking sides with Gauri. He lambasted Priyanka on Twitter for planting fake PR stories against him. She was almost untouchable in Bollywood. But now it seems the two have buried the hatched.
Saif Ali Khan at Taj: NRI Iqbal Sharma made it public about the scuffle he had with Saif at Taj hotel in Mumbai and dragged the actor to the police station. Apparently Saif misbehaved with Sharma's aged father-in-law during the fight. Sharma lodged a police complain and decided to sue the actor. It brought to the limelight Saif’s arrogance and unruly behavior.
Shah Rukh Khan-Wankhede Stadium: Kolkata Knight Riders won this year's Indian Premiere League trophy but this year will leave a bitter memory for Shah Rukh. During one of the KKR matches in Mumbai Wankheda stadium SRK got into a scuffle with the officials of the stadium. They accused him of entering the grounds and misbehaving with the officials. Following this SRK was banned from entering the stadium. However, SRK explained his rage saying the official manhandled with his daughter and her friends and his reaction was in retaliation.
Ajay-Yash Raj Films: There is no fist fight here but all in paper. Before Ajay Devgn's film 'Son of Sardar' and Yash Raj Films' 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' clashed at the box-office in the same day, Ajay’s production house took legal action against YRF. ADF filed a complaint in the Competition Commission Of India (CCI) alleging that YRF used its dominant position in the market to get maximum screens for 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', which resulted in Devgn`s 'Son of Sardaar' not finding enough screens.
