Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is often titled King Khan, truly lives life king size.

A sneak peek into his majestic mansion in Mumbai, named Mannat, just further accentuates this. His abode is a clear reflection of his flamboyant lifestyle.

Located in the Mumbai suburb of Bandra, overlooking the sea, the interiors are decked in ornate designs, suggestive of how the Mughal emperor’s lived back in the day.

SRK credits his wife Gauri for designing and decorating the interiors of his house. “It's Gauri who decides what interior stuff to buy for home and what not, I am not allowed to say anything,” he had told the Indian media.

Painted in milky-white, the palatial house has six-levels, and has numerous bedrooms and a vast living room. All the rooms have breathtaking views of the sea.

Much of the interiors are built using white marble.

Everything from the curtains to the chandeliers are painted in shades of gold, and the furniture is embellished with opulent golden designs.

The living room is designed in classic strokes, with paintings of M F Husain and numerous art, antiques and curios filling up the area.

Two floors of his house are dedicated to filming commercials. According to the actor, this ensures he can work and stay at home at the same time.

Telly ads for Dish TV and Airtel have been shot inside his house.

He even invites media personalities into his office, which is situated in Mannat, for interviews.

The fourth-floor of the house is dedicated to his kids and has a boxing ring, a table-tennis table. “It’s just a big floor with no walls,” he said, adding, “We even go and play cricket there.”

There’s also a massive pool that’s a favourite among SRK and the kids. He’s even packed in a Pepsi dispenser, a jukebox and a huge home theatre system.

He has a huge space dedicated to his office, where his team overlook his financial and movie work.

His a huge library, which he claims is an ode to his father.  Gauri gave it the old-English flavour, and stocks walls of books in heavy wooden shelves. There’s even a work-table, which SRK had candidly claimed he has never used.

"Books are the only friends you have, and I like to be surrounded by books,” he claimed in the documentary ‘Living with a Superstar’, which extensively captured his life behind the spotlight.

"There are 10-12 books that belong to my father in that library.”

Few of his awards find a place in the library, and one wall adorns framed images of his family.

SRK has an entire wing dedicated to a well-quipped gym.

The entrance has tall pillars and opens into a lush green lawn. It is designed on Italian architecture.

Mannat was built in 1915 by the Batliwala family, and was titled a heritage bungalow. SRK had purchased the property in 2001 from the Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust.

It was in 2005, that SRK had the bungalow re-constructed, added a six-storied building and named it Mannat.
