Celebrity and paparazzi scuffles make for great gossip fodder and Bollywood is no exception to the case, with actor Preity Zinta being the last victim of a mob of photographers that awaited her return to
Mumbai yesterday.
The ‘Ishkq in Paris’ actress took to Twitter earlier today after images of her, attempting to hide her face from the press were splashed in the news, with many criticising her actions, which they
say go hand-in-hand of being a public figure.
While others have speculated whether she had a facelift and was attempting to hide any telltale scarring or bruising.
However, the feisty starlet who is returning to celluloid after a four-year hiatus is not one to take criticism easily.
Shooting a barrage of tweets, Zinta started with: “Sitting at home with a twisted ankle post the airport assault by photographers. First I shoot all night and get on the plane and then get pushed.”
Zinta continued: “Pushed and jumped on at the airport. It was raining so I slipped. [I] wasn’t hiding my face but was trying to recover from the shock of 40 camera flashes.
“I am a human being not some animal in the zoo. If my security would have pushed them then the news would report my staff assaulted the media.”
“[I am] telling u all this because all of you asked why I was hiding my face. Every story has two sides so here is my side of the story.”
This isn’t the first time Zinta has come under ‘attack’ by the Indian media, with the 37-year-old entrepreneur and UN Goodwill Ambassador admitting that on previous occasion her car was damaged, saying: “Last time my car was scratched and the side mirror broke.”
However, Zinta finally admitted that ultimately she did attempt to hide from the media in a fit of rage, adding: “Yes, in the end I was p***** off so then I definitely didn’t want to show my face.”
Not one to take things quietly, the actor has threatened to file charges should such an altercation occur again.
“If photographers ask me politely I will oblige, but next time I will either attack someone or then file a police complaint because this is not fair.”
