If you are travelling through Dubai Airport over the next 24 hours, don't be surprised if a few of those passenger faces have stared back at you from the silver screen.

The Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (Aiba) weekend has finally kicked off in Dubai, with Bollywood’s who's who of tinsel town jetting into the emirate between today and Friday to strut down the golden carpet rolled out for them at the Meydan Racecourse on May 29.

Organisers have revealed a special chartered flight will be shuttling in most of the big names from Bollywood on Wednesday, including Parineeti Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.

Dhawan and Kapoor, along with actor-director Prabhu Deva and director-choreographer Remo D’Souza, will also be showcasing their film 'ABCD 2' later on Thursday in a special media interaction.

Fans of the superstar Salman Khan have already created frenzy when news spread the actor has landed in Dubai late Wednesday evening after being granted permission to fly by the Bombay High Court following his suspended sentence of a conviction in the hit-and-run case.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra, along with the cast of 'Dil Dhadakne Do', including Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh and Shefali Shah, will be showcasing their film on Friday with director Zoya Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidwani in tow.

Supercars for superstars

While organisers have already revealed that Khan will be performing the grand finale on the awards night, descending from a hot air balloon, Benchmark Media Managing Director Habib Rahman shed light on further details of the eight acts that will unravel on stage.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, he said: "We have pulled out all stops to give Dubai audiences the most spectacular show they will ever see.

"There's the hot air balloon act for Salman, while Priyanka Chopra will ride in atop a camel. But then there's Varun Dhawan, who will ride in on stage in a Bugatti Veyron and maybe jump on to a horse."

Rahman continued: "There's a Ferrari that will be driven on to the stage for Jacqueline; while Parineeti will have her own dramatic entry."

The 27-meter wide stage has been managed by Cineyug, which will also be handling other starry stage acts, which will include three cranes that will sweep over the crowds.

‎The entertainment quotient of the night will include a 'surprise act' by a famous Arab singer, according to Rahman, who further added that actor-producer-director Karan Johar ‎and Manish Paul will be hosting the night with their personal flair.

Rahman further added: "‎This is the first step that will lay the foundation for what AIBA has set out to do, which is bridge the gap between the Arab and the Indian entertainment industries to fuel growth for further investment that is beneficial to both parties.

"We want to showcase Dubai as the hub for filmmakers in terms of shooting and investing in the infrastructure here."

While the countdown begins for this annual event, fans of Bollywood stars attending will be excited to note some of the other celeb names added to the guest list include actress Neha Dhupia, Kriti Sanon, director-producer Rajkumar Hirani, singer Ankit Tiwari, Kanika Kapoor, Meet Brothers and more.
