Madhuri Dixit's age old cold war continues...

The two lead actresses of yesteryears - Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla -were seen together promoting ‘Gulab Gang’ produced by Anubhav Sinha and directed by Soumik Sen.

The two seems to have a silent war going on forever even though they are no more the top leading ladies but they came together for the promotion and also lent voice to some social cause.

There seemed to be an undercurrent of hostility towards each other even during the film promotions as they kept their talks formally on the surface.

Juhi plays the antagonist in the film and talks about the movie saying, “I’ll just say when I heard the script; I was blown away with the whole drama. It’s not just a script we have written and acted rather such incidents do happen everyday in smaller towns and villages. It’s a very interesting and eye opening film.”

Not to be left behind, Madhuri adds, “It’s a very relevant film, it’s about as Juhi mentioned the challenges in small towns that women face today. In fact, not just women but we as a society as well. It’s a comment on all that.”

Not only has the producer managed to rope in these actresses together for promotions but he has started a campaign for women empowerment called ‘Believe’ along with an NGO.

Under this campaign he will shoot short films based on the achievements of successful women that would be shown on the internet and television.

As Anubhav says, “Let the world known the potential that women of our country have.” The lead of the film, Madhuri supports the idea as she says, “Bravery of women, heroines of the heroine, some such shows must be made. I completely support the idea.”

The film is based on ‘Gulabi Gang’, a group of Indian women vigilantes and activists dressed in pink saris, fighting against the social injustice and operating in the Bundelkhand region of central India.

So Anubhav is probably doing the right thing by promoting the film with a touch of social consciousness.
