With the IPL cricket seems to be the only thing on the mind of most Indians. And releasing a film in such a scenario is quite risky. But Bollywood is becoming bold. Many big films are up for release during this year’s IPL 6.

David Dhawan’s comedy ‘Chashme Baddoor’ started this on April 5. It is a remake of the 80s ‘Chashme Badoor’. Interestingly, along with the new 'Chashme Baddoor', the old 'Chasme Baddoor' also re-released. On April 12, we will see the release of the Dilip Ghosh directed and Vipul Shah produced ‘Commando’. In this action-thriller, the lead role has been essayed by Vidyut Jamwal and he has not tension about competing with the IPL. "We should not underestimate our audience. If the want to see cricket they will see cricket and if they want to see film, they will see films," says Jamwal.

He is so confident that he is not worried about taking a hit from other films either. Along with ‘Commando’, the Rohan Sippy directed 'Nautanki Saala ' is also set to see the theatres. Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapoor are playing the lead roles. Interestingly, Ayushmann's debut ‘Vicky Donor’ also released during last year’s IPL and it was critically as well as commercially successful. Sippy says, “Competition keeps on happening. On one side there are films on the
other there’s the IPL. If the IPL is not there, there are big heroes to watch out for. So you have to accept it. If promotions generate enough curiosity, the audience will come to see the film.”

Ekta Kapoor's and Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Ek Thi Daayan' is going to be release on April 18. The lead roles are played by Emraan Hashmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Kalki Kochelin. On March 1 Ekta Kapoor's much hyped 'Shootout At Wadala' is going to be released which is inspired by real life gangsters and John Abraham, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Anil Kapoor will be seen in the film. Shakti Kapoor’s son Siddhant Kapoor will debut in this film.

On May 3 we will see the release of 'Bombay Talkies', which is dedicated to 100 years of Indian cinema. The series of shorts have been directed by Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibaker Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar... Along with this Apoorva Lakhia's 'Zanjeer' will also get a release. Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja debuts in the film and Priyanka Chopra stars opposite him.

'Aashqui 2' is releasing on May 10, which is said to be the sequel of the 1990s musical hit. This film has been directed by Mohit Suri and Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are in the main leads. KJo’s 'Gippi' is going to release alongside and is being directed by Sonam Nair.

Saif Ali Khan's  'Go Goa Gone' will also release on the same day. Which is been directed by Raj and DK … whose first 2 films '99 'and 'Shor In The City' also released during the IPL. Apart from Sailf Kunal Khemu and Vir Das will be seen in the film. This is the first zombie comedy film. There are 11 big films set to release during IPL.
