Kangna or Deepika… Katrina Kaif couldn't bother

Katrina Kaif is basking in the glory of the success of her film ‘Phantom’. Having wrapped up her film ‘Fitoor’, the actress has not signed up any other film and is not ready to talk beyond what she is ready to. We first asked her to clarify a few rumours.

Did you really attend the success party of ‘Tamasha’ as reported?

No. I did not. I have been busy with my work. I think you should not believe in every story that you read in the newspapers. I do not give much importance to them.

Are you angry or upset with Siddharth Malhotra as rumoured?

Of course not. They are just rumours.

Your contemporaries like Kangna and Deepika are getting author-backed women-oriented roles and they are being appreciated. You do not want to belong there?

Whenever my heart tells me that I have to do such roles or films, I will gladly do so. I have been offered such movies before, but then I have only done those films that I have felt good about.

Will you miss Rekha in ‘Fitoor’?

Every film has its destiny. I would have been very happy if she was in the film, but then everything is not in our hands. But then I did have a good time working with director Abhishek Kapoor.

You seem to want to take the fight into the enemy camp. We are told you insisted on a gunfight for ‘Phantom’ as well?

Ha, ha. There was a scene when Saif was indulging in a gunfight and I was a part of that scene too. So I suggested to the fight master that I am also an agent and I should also pick up the gun and not just be an embellishment in the scene. So I got to fire a few shots.

How has your journey been in the film industry?

I am pretty lucky that I got an opportunity to work a lot. When you get an opportunity in a crowd and also get a lot of recognition you are a blessed soul. I have got a lot more from the film industry and the audience than what I had even imagined or expected.

Any biopic that you would like to be a part of?

I am not a writer or a director. But then if I do like a script and feel inspired by it I will definitely do it.

Any dream role?

Every script is different from the other and one never understands when it will be called a great film so I do not want to dream too much. I am pretty much clear about the work I want to do.

So what do you do when you feel like not working and when you are free?

Aah. That’s the time for a holiday.
