Katherine Jackson has not authorised the release of "Opis None", her business partner clarified on Monday, backtracking on a statement he made last week.

The track was released in a posthumous tit-for-tat battle after Sony Music put out an extract of "Breaking News", the first single of an upcoming December album called "Michael". However, fans immediately spotted that it wasn't a new song at all, and that it was merely a remake of Jackson's 1979 song "Destiny".

It was initially reported that the late King of Pop’s mother, 80-year-old Katherine, and a partner in JacksonSecretVault.com had “authorised” the song’s release from a collection of huundreds of songs, videos and other material held by site.

Mann has now posted a retraction on the site, admitting that 'Opis None' is not new at all. A revised post on the website reads: "From the archives of Jackson secret vault, we'd like to present a free authentic remake MJ track for the fans. This track was NOT released by Mrs. Jackson, this is a dance remake created from unreleased masters in the JacksonSecretVault.com archives. We sincerely apologise to the fans for any confusion.”

This round goes to the fans, then.
