Hollywood's Jude Law, model Jodie Kidd launch world's highest theatre in Dubai

The British hunk is one in a long line of celebrities to spruce up the city’s nightlife scene.

Just when you thought this city’s nightlife had ticked all the right boxes to sustain its exclusivity tag, along comes yet another theatrical ‘Act’ to serve up some unique fare with even more distinctive packaging in the form of Jude Law.

The award winning British actor jetted into Dubai to lend weight and his star power to the red carpet opening of The Act at the Shangri-La Hotel.

Also joining the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ star was British model Jodie Kidd, along with club founder Simon Hammerstein.

Looking dapper in a grey suit, Law, who is a frequent visitor at a similar cabaret-style club in London, aptly called The Box, appeared in his element on the red carpet affair, which was an exclusive opening night prior to The Act’s official opening on March 28, as per its website.

The Act is located on the 42nd and 43rd floor of Shangri-La, allegedly making it the highest theatre in the world, according to reports. (We reckon the Guinness World Records will be verifying this to add to Dubai’s bouquet of achievements).

The restaurant theatre is similar to the cabaret style affairs that bring the boudoir kitsch to high-class venues in cities such as London, Paris, New York and Las Vegas.

With Law’s visit, along with Pamela Anderson’s turn in the spotlight earlier this month at the VIP Room, JW Marriott Marquis, we can certainly expect a few more celebrities to saunter through, what with The Supper Club being the next big venue readying for the glitterati next month reportedly at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.
