Actress Shilpa Shetty delivered a healthy baby boy early this morning at a hospital in western Mumbai suburb.

Both the mother and the baby are doing fine. Husband Raj Kundra and the entire family was reportedly present at the hospital to celebrate the happy occasion.

No sooner did she become mother a jubilant husband Raj Kundra unable to contain his happiness declared the news on Twitter.

“God has blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby are fine. I am thrilled to bits!!!!!!" tweeted the proud husband and father, Kundra.

The actress/entrepreneur was thrown a lavish baby shower by her sister Shamita Shetty and good friend Kiran Bawa earlier this month.

He also thanked his wife and the hospital staff, "A big thank you to my wife @TheShilpaShetty for the bestest gift ever, DR Kiran Cohelo and all the staff at Hinduja Hospital!".

Shilpa's entire family, including mother Sunanda and sister Shamita, were present. Though Shilpa was due any day on Sunday she had gone for a normal checkup but the doctors admitted her immediately as the contractions had begun.

Congratulatory messages have started pouring in for the new parents.
