Now, a US magazine has drawn the ire of an entire nation by publishing a photoshopped picture of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, with rotten teeth.
The mock-up is on the cover of the New Republic and for the main story on the decay of Britain.
The Daily Mail was the first to take umbrage and has raised the level of outrage.
The Mail also reported that last year the Duchess spent thousands of pounds having her teeth polished and turned to give her the perfect smile.
The special issue of the magazine ran with the title 'Something's Rotten. The Last Days of Britain' next to the picture.
