Man opens bank account forging boss' passport

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance convicted an Emirati manager after finding him guilty of forging a photocopy of his employer’s passport and using it to open a bank account.

The manager also got a cheque book with the forged papers.

The court sentenced MMS, 37, to one year and six months in jail term.

According to the records, MMS asked RK, fugitive, to forge his employer’s passport photocopy by placing his picture instead and making a photocopy of the forged document.

The manager is accused of using the forged passport photocopy and filling an application for opening an account with ADCB based on which he received a cheque book.

The employer Masoud Amin, 40, Emirati, testified that he has a license of a contracting company which is managed by the accused.

“I keep a photocopy of my passport with the accused to enable him finish the company’s formalities.” He said.

Fahed Saleh, of Ajman Police who investigated the case said that the accused confessed of his crime. He admitted that he has given RK the passport photocopy and his own picture.

MMS has signed on the form of opening a bank account and other related forms, according to the records.
