Accelerating towards the Bollywood-struck fan following Dubai boasts, the stars of ‘Race 2’ will put the pedal to metal on January 16 for this Bollywood action-thriller with a promotional visit to the city,
 
Attending the full day event will be lead stars Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.
 
Crew members, including director duo Abbas-Mastan, are also expected to make an appearance, probably in their trademark whites.
 
The movie, which releases in UAE cinemas on January 24, is the sequel to the 2008 smash-hit that was incidentally filmed in Al Ain for its action-paced climax.
 
Speaking to Emirates 24|7 earlier, Syed Shuja from organisers Dream Advertising and Ministry of Events, said: “Everyone from the cast and crew will be attending the event, which includes a press conference, followed by a 6.30pm meet and greet with the stars at Arabian Centre and then a sit down dinner later that evening at The Meydan Hotel.
 
“While tickets for the dinner are on an invitation-only basis, fans will be able to snap up invites through radio competitions that will run prior to the event.”
 
The film sees Khan reprise his role as Ranvir Singh, who finds new love in Ellena (Padukone), after the death of his fiancé Sonia (a special appearance by Bipasha Basu).
 
It is being speculated that Abraham plays the baddie in the film, with Fernandez as his sidekick.
 
The film will be 2013’s first mega-budget Bollywood release, with its production and marketing expenses allegedly hitting Rs870 million.
