"Salman Khan is absolutely fine, doctors said there is nothing to worry about and will be home tomorrow morning (March 24)", father Salim Khan informed Emirates24|7.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan who has been suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia had undergone treatment in the US two years back.

After the treatment the actor was advised to visit and consult his doctor in the US every six months. But owing to packed schedule, this superstar could never devote the kind of time his condition required.

But finally he paid attention to his ailment and went for his check-up few days back. Salman has been given a clean chit by the doctors, will not need another surgery. He will continue with the medication.

Salim Khan said, "This is a routine check-up, he might have to go again; every six months you see, but there is nothing to worry about. No more surgery, nothing."

"They had to find out if there was any growth but thankfully there is none. They are satisfied with the progress of his health," he continued.

Salman Khan is returning to India on March 24 morning. His next shooting for Sohail Khan's 'Mental' is scheduled to take place in Gao.

It was in June 2011 that Salman was detected with neuralgia. Since then he has been on heavy medication to manage the unbearable pain.

The Dabangg actor has been suffering from the pain in his jaw since 2007 while shooting for 'Partner'.

When he was being examined for this problem, he was also diagnosed with an aneurysm at the back of his head.

What is Trigeminal Neuralgia?

There are 12 cranial nerves -- these are the nerves that supply sensation to different muscles and functions in the face and head region. The fifth nerve is called the Trigeminal nerve; it carries sensation from the face to the brain. It is divided into three divisions -- it gives sensation to your eyes (including the sensation of your eyeball) to your nose and to your jaw.

All nerves basically have electric current. In some people, these nerves get excited electrically by themselves, producing intense pain. It feels like an electric shock. This pain could either be in the first division around the eye, or the second around the nose, or around the jaw. For one person, it is always one division -- it could be the eye, the nose or the jaw, not all three together.

A person suffering from this condition does not feel pain all the time, but it can come like an electric shock when you eat or drink cold water. It could be triggered by a wind blowing towards the face. Even an action like touching a handkerchief to the face can trigger this intense pain.

The pain is like a shock; it can literally throw you for few seconds and then it goes away.
