Salman Khan picks up the broom to 'Clean India'

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has accepted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Clean India' challenge to clean public places.

The 48-year-old 'Dabangg' star has initiated the task and posted pictures of his cleanliness drive on his social media pages.

Salman was accompanied by 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh and Manoj Joshi.

He tweeted the pictures and wrote: "I once again thank Narendra Modi for taking up the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) initiative and nominating me."

Salman then nominated colleagues from the industry and Indian corporate heads to participate in the movement.

"I nominate the following for Swachh Bharat campaign and request them to further nominate 9 more people.First, I nominate my fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter. Each one of us can make a difference. And I nominate Aamir Khan, Azim Premji, Chanda Kochhar, Omar Abdullah, Pradeep Dhoot, Rajat Sharma, Rajinikanth & Vineet Jain."

Narendra Modi appreciated Salman's effort and tweeted: "The effort by @BeingSalmanKhan is a significant one that will inspire several people to join Swachh Bharat Mission. #MyCleanIndia".

The Indian PM had appealed to people to dedicate 100 hours a year towards cleanliness, and as a part of which he also invited Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kamal Haasan to help clean public places.
