No one can ever make Salman Khan do what he doesn't want. This was also the case with his smoking habits.

Many times in the past Salman has been advised to quit smoking. Salman promised to give up smoking several times, but he failed to keep his words.

But now the ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ actor has realised that it's high time he ought to be take charge of his health until it got too late.

He is enjoying success like never before and has become extremely disciplined. After his health scare around a year back due to trigeminal neuralgia (nerve pain), Salman does not want to hamper the recovery process any more.

And thus his decision to quit alcohol and cigarette to prevent worsening his nerve condition.

It has been five months since Salman lit a cigarette or drank liquor.

A national daily, Mid Day, has revealed an interesting piece of news which says that whenever Salman gets the urge to smoke, he pulls out a cigarette and puffs on it sans lighting it. But when he discards the cigarette, his staff brings it back so that Salman could re-use it. This trick seems to be working for the actor.
