Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift get soaked in ice cold water

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were rumoured to be feuding earlier this year.

But all that iciness is a thing of the past as they both participated in the ALS ice bucket challenge on Saturday.

Selena, 22, promptly took on the challenge after Taylor, 24, nominated her while teaming up with Jaime King to lead a large group in the endeavour.

Taylor and Jaime took the challenge together along with a large group of crowd behind them.

The entire group counts down from three before drenching themselves in freezing water and shrieking in the aftermath.

An hour after Taylor posted her videos, Selena shared hers, stating: 'Thank you Ryan Seacrest and T-Swizzy (Taylor Swift) for the challenge. Accepted.'

The "Come And Get It" hitmaker proceeds to shriek in shock after her drenching, while clad in a large white T-shirt and little shorts.

She then nominates Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, and James Franco, 'because my shirt says James Franco.'

If your Facebook newsfeed is looking a bit wet and chilly these days with big celebrities drenching themselves in ice cold water - don't get worked up.

They have a reason.

This social media phenomenon known as the “Ice Bucket Challenge” involves dumping a pail of ice cold water over your head and then challenging three other people to do the same within 24 hours.

Don’t want to accept the task after being summoned to it? Donate $100 to the ALS Association which fights amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

It may seem like a silly social media meme, but it’s making a difference: The ALS Association reports that it, and its 38 chapters, received $4 million in donations in just two weeks.

Last year during that same time period, (July 29-August 12), the association brought in $1.1 million.
