Amidst several delays and slot sparring with other filmmakers Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer 'Chennai Express' was to be released on August 8 in India.

After going back and forth and fixing schedules now the makers have again changed their mind. Instead of August 8 the much-awaited movie will be released on 9.

Since India will be celebrating Eid on August 9 the makers have decided that it will be the best gift for SRK-Deepika fans.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, 'Chennai Express' will try to cash in long weekend, the festive mood and the holiday crowd.

After lot of debate and negotiation Shetty got the clearance to release his movie during Eid.

Bollywood has always witnessed big clashes on Eid and Independence Day but clashes incur huge losses.

'Chennai Express' and 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara' were to release on August 8 but producer Ekta Kapoor postponed the release date of the Akshay Kumar-starrer to August 15, after SRK requested her father, veteran actor Jeetendra, to avoid the box office clash.

However, there is one clash that is evident 'Thalaivaa'-'Chennai Express'. South star Ilaythalapathy Vijay is getting ready to take on the challenge from SRK.

Vijay's latest flick 'Thalaivaa' is all set to release on the same date as 'Chennai Express'.

SRK's movie is also much awaited in Tamil Nadu but only time will tell how 'Chennai Express' will affect the regional movie 'Thalaivaa'.

Shah Rukh has now wrapped up the shooting and posted on Twitter, "Shooting for Chennai Express wraps. About 18 hours non-stop. My feet feel big and thus the world smaller...I can walk around it into the dawn now."

Now with all the re-adjustments and news of Eid invasion Shah Rukh must be a happy man. And who knows with a longer weekend his movie might also break 'Ek Tha Tiger' first day record collection of Rs33 crore.
