Shilpa Shetty had created an account on Twitter for her newborn son Viaan. By the time the child was 20 days old, he already had 3,411 followers.
The account was regularly updated by Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra. However, after an article voiced their thoughts about introducing a newborn to social media at such a tender age, the parents reacted to it and tweeted: "Due to an inconsequential article claiming my mum is seeking publicity, I have decided to stop tweeting. This is my official twitter handle set up by my father which I will use when I am old enough. Thank you all for your love and wishes."
However, Shilpa and Raj are not the first parents to latch on to a social networking site to share their little one's life with their fans. The Times of India was quick to point out that earlier this year Celina Jaitely had introduced her newborn twins on Twitter when they were just two weeks old.
