Wanna meet Salman Khan? Bigg Boss UAE auditions open to you

If the daily ‘Bigg Boss’ scandals have been your morning fodder for those water cooler chats; if a WhatsApp gossip group is forged at the start of each new season, then UAE fans, this audition is just the ticket to bring out the celebrity in you.

Of course, meeting superstar Salman Khan in the bargain can be the icing on the cake.

The makers of Color TV’s successful reality show have now announced its ‘common man’ auditions will also be opened up for UAE residents, allowing fans in the emirates to win a chance to be on the show, living and competing for the grand prize in the Bigg Boss house.

Earlier, Khan himself had announced Bigg Boss Season 10 would throw open its doors for everyone in India, to earn their way to ‘name, fame and the prize money’.

Now, the Colors TV head honchos have extended that chance to fans in the UAE, with the entertainment channel confirming with ‘Emirates 24|7’ auditions will take place locally in April; a final date has yet to be determined.

Organisers further stated the auditions would be open to South Asians, along with “other nationalities who follow ‘Bigg Boss’ and have no visa constraints to travel to India’.

While further details of the auditions have yet to be announced, entries are open for contestants aged 21 and over.

Meanwhile, similar auditions are also being held in India, with an application deadline of May 31.

Bigg Boss, which is the Indian adaptation of the reality show ‘Big Brother’, sees contestants staying in confinement for over hundred days, along with other celebrities, to vie for a cash prize.

Housemates are given weekly tasks to perform, on the basis of which they are whittled down through audience votes.

Along the way, star-studded guests from Bollywood also stop by to promote their upcoming film projects.

In an earlier statement, Colors TV CEO Raj Nayak said: “Bigg Boss as a show is like a study in human psychology. One can learn so much about human behaviour through the actions of the housemates in a given situation.

“As we take on this interesting content innovation, we look forward to receiving some interesting entries from our increasing viewer base.

“We will be scouting for some great contestants in the months to come. You could be a doctor, engineer, lawyer, teacher, preacher, banker, entrepreneur, home-maker, taxi-driver, coolie, from any domain, any socio-economic background, have any calibre, if you think you are an entertainer, then this is the break that you have been looking for.”

As the channel gears up for the casting call in UAE, interested parties in India can upload a three-minute video that showcases a trait of the participant that will make them eligible.

The audition and the short-listing process will start thereafter.

In the past, popular Bigg Boss contestants have included Sunny Leone, who was famously signed on for a film when producer Mahesh Bhatt entered the home to sign her on.

Other celebrities include actress Gauhar Khan, actress-host Karishma Tanna, actor Upen Patel, TV star Gautam Gulati, among others.

After hosting the show last few seasons and publicly announcing he was not to return for season 10, turns out, Bollywood’s Salman Khan is reportedly set to make a comeback after a salary hike of Rs10 crore per episode.
