Aluminium intake must not exceed 100mg a day

Intake of aluminium within permissible limits does not adversely affect human health, according to Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA).

"About 14 per cent of aluminium produced worldwide is used in cooking equipment and packaging materials, and does not constitute any risk to human health,” 'Al Bayan' newspaper quoted ADFCA as saying. 

Use of aluminium in cooking utensils and aluminium foil, deodorants, antacids, etc, within permissible limits does not carry risk to health, confirmed USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after repeated studies over several years.

The administration aluminium intake from foods must not exceed 100mg per day.

Some bodies in the Gulf states had recently warned people of the dangers in using aluminium foil in cooking.
