DMI, Jumeirah Group release turtles

Jumeirah Group in collaboration with DMI's Department of Society  released six green sea turtles into the Arabian Gulf as part of the UAE National Day celebrations.

Transmitters have been fixed on their shells and their journey in the ocean will be tracked for two years.

The biggest turtle in the group weighs about40kgs.

The turtles underwent treatment for several months at the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP) at the Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah.

The organisations also hosted 40 children from Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care to witness the releasing of turtles.

The ceremony was attended Mariam Al Murr bin Hariz, Director of the Society Department, DMI; Ilham Humaid Al Suwaidi, Supervisor at Society Department, DMI; and Somaya Saeed Khalfan, Director of Corporate Communications, Jumeirah Group.

DMI and Jumeirah Group aim to enhance humanitarian activities.
