Kristen Layne posted photos of herself in a purple prom dress - she felt like a princess.

She wanted to sell that dress online and use the money to buy a senior prom dress.

However, shortly after she posted the ad to sell it several mean spirited commenters said some very hateful things to Layne about her weight and appearance.

For example, one commenter said "Does it fit in a durango??"

Such mean comments from Facebook trolls threatened to knock her confidence.

At first, Kristen defended herself, asking politely for people to stop such hateful comments.

But then, in a heartwarming move, she found support on the page.

One commenter wrote: "It's obvious this woman is beautiful, inside and out."

Another added: "You look freaking gorgeous."

Someone else wrote: "I heard your story and you are beautiful!!!!! People just don't understand that they are being brainwashed by unreasonable standards of beauty!!!! You are a lovely girl!!!:)"

Other web users contacted Kristen privately, telling her she was an inspiration.

Along with the emotional rewards came financial ones.

Initially she hoped to raise around $350 on Go Fund Me. Now Layne has so far raised $6,500 from strangers who wanted to avenge the cyber bullies.

Though she's not yet sure what she'll do with all the money, she's so far used some of it to buy a friend the prom dress of her dreams.

"I paid it forward and she will look beautiful on her prom day. I'm also doing her hair and make-up that day. Thank you guys so much for y'alls support," she wrote on the Go Fund Me page.

In addition, Layne donated the dress she had intended to sell to another student who couldn't afford to buy it.

Take that haters!
