Emaar Malls Group, the shopping malls and leisure subsidiary of Emaar Properties, has introduced air-conditioned Trolley Buses, each with a capacity of 25 passengers to enhance the ease of access for visitors to Downtown Dubai, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The addition of the Trolley Buses in Downtown Dubai will significantly enhance the ease of accessibility of tourists as well as ease the traffic during peak hours,” said Nasser Rafi, CEO, Emaar Malls Group.

The Downtown Dubai Trolley Buses will cover The Dubai Mall, The Address Downtown Dubai hotel, Souk Al Bahar, The Palace – The Old Town hotel, Burj Park/The Pavilion Downtown Dubai, and Burj Khalifa, and will eventually be linked to the Dubai Metro, the statement said.

Traversing the Emaar Boulevard, the Trolley Buses have stops at the Grand Drive/Gold Souk Entrance of The Dubai Mall, The Address Downtown Dubai, Souk Al Bahar, Burj Park/The Pavilion Downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa, Emaar Square and The Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa Metro Station.

Akin to the hop-on-hop-off service, Trolley Buses will offer flexible schedules for visitors, as they can board on any trolley bus from any of the stops. Tickets for the bus service, priced at Dh20, can be purchased on the Trolley Bus, the statement said, adding that children below 12 years of age (accompanied by parents or guardians) can travel free.

The 500-acre mega development in the heart of Dubai features several must-visit tourist attractions including Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building; The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination and The Dubai Fountain, the world’s tallest performing fountain.

A hub for leisure, shopping, hospitality, entertainment, business and modern living, Downtown Dubai also has six world-class hotels including the world’s first Armani Hotel Dubai in Burj Khalifa, which also features At.mosphere, the world’s highest restaurant located on Level 122 of the tower.

A magnet for leisure and business visitors, the flagship development of Emaar also has a vibrant business park, the Emaar Square, and several residential communities.

The Trolley Buses have been envisaged as a vital link for tourists and guests in the various hotels of Downtown Dubai to tour the development in a convenient hop on-hop off fashion with the purchase of one ticket for a whole day’s use.

The compact Trolley Buses are sleek at 9 metres long and 2.5 metres wide, and are enclosed with removable side windows and back sidewalls. They have auto safety glass and two flat screen monitors with DVD players
