The second batch of injured Yemenis affected by the violent assault by the Al Houthi militia, arrived on Thursday in Abu Dhabi to receive medical treatment in the UAE's hospitals.

The move came as per the directives of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Shaikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The 30 wounded persons are suffering from fractures in the legs, arms, head, amputation and birth defects due to the ongoing events in Yemen.

The arrival of this batch is seen in the framework of the humanitarian initiative of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa in the light of the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Yemen and solidarity with the people of Yemen. The move also came in the light of the UAE's humanitarian efforts to address the suffering of the Yemenis, enhance their humanitarian conditions and support them in their confrontation with the Al Houthis.

An Emirati plane carrying the Yemenis arrived in the UAE early on Thursday morning with the co-operation of the Emirates Red Crescent and the armed forces. At the airport, they were received by a number of health department officials in addition to ambulances with the latest international medical equipment.

The hospitals in the country were ready to receive the injured and provide medical treatment as well as cater to all their needs during their stay in the country.

Dr. Matar Al Darmaki, Acting Group Chief Executive Officer at Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (Seha), said, "Seha is carrying out a pioneering role in such cases through managing of medical procedures, which is the first of its kind in the Arab region."

On their part, the injured Yemenis appreciated the UAE's stance towards Yemen as was expected from the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Emiratis. They also prayed to the Almighty to preserve Sheikh Khalifa and the UAE people as well as grant the country permanent security and stability.

They also expressed their happiness at receiving medical treatment in the UAE, while noting that they were confident that they would be well cared for.
