65-year-old pilgrim carries mom on his back during Haj

A 65-year-old Pakistani Muslim pilgrim defied his old age and carried his mother for hours during Haj in Saudi Arabia last week, after noticing she was no longer able to keep on walking, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

A Saudi pilgrim who was close to them said he was so touched by the scene that he started to cry before asking for permission to photograph them.

“I asked the man how old he was and he said 65 years. He told me that he decided to carry his mother on his back after she could no longer keep on walking,” Saif Mohammed Al Qahtani said, adding that he gave the picture to Sabq newspaper.

“I was really touched when I saw that old man defying his old age and carrying his mother for hours.

“I could not stop crying. I am very happy to see such a strong love, affection and dedication for mothers.”
